Warkworth Castle   (Northumberland)

An attractive late keep, still roofed; interior layout is very ingenious (e.g., stairs down to the wine cellar directly from the Lord's Solar -- designed for maximum comfort, as long as you had plenty of servants); compare this place with Bolsover, a couple of hundred years later, which also has a livable-in 'keep', but their mindworlds were different even if their mindsets were the same -- Warkworth is Sheriff of Nottingham, Bolsover is Robin Hood, yet both displayed ostentatious richness.
